TIM-WKFS 2015 Finance & Risk Summit: Regulatory Trends Impacting Banks in Philippines

Total Information Management Corporation in partnership with Wolters Kluwer Financial Services, with the support from Microsoft Philippines, held it's 2nd Annual Finance and Risk Summit last April 21st at New World Hotel Makati.


A successful event well attended by the top executives coming from 27 leading Banks in the country.


The summit brought in Governance, Finance, Risk and Compliance experts from various countries to share insights into key regulatory issues impacting banks in the Philippines.


Highlights of the agenda included:


Keynote speaker Mary Jane T. Chiong, director at Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, presented on best practices for banks in moving "beyond compliance" and navigating the current financial regulatory landscape.


Matthias Coessens, APAC market manager for finance with Wolters Kluwer Financial Services, provided updates on IFRS9 (International Financial Reporting Standards 9), "GATCA", or Global FATCA  (the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act), Basel III and Governance, Finance, Risk and Compliance, or GFRC issues;


Piet Mandeville, APAC market manager for risk with Wolters Kluwer Financial Services addressed how financial institutions can better gain an enterprise view of risk in light of ongoing local and global regulatory change management;


Matt Field, vice president, APAC advisory with the company discussed how new and updated regulations impact operational risk processes.


Guest speaker Christian G. Lauron, partner, SGV & Co. at EY, presented the impact of financial regulatory reform on various business models.
